Pupil Premium Information
The ‘Pupil Premium’ is additional funding for schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. Hillside receive an additional £1,320 funding per year for each pupil who was registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years.
This is comprised of funding for children who qualify, or have qualified, for free school meals since they started at Hillside. It also includes funding for Service Children and children who are Looked After.
At Hillside, we know our community very well and have carefully analysed barriers to learning. Barriers to learning are shared by many more pupils than just those who have been registered for free school meals in the last 6 years. We have considered this when creating our Pupil Premium Strategy and have based our spending priorities on high quality research to ensure our strategies are effective.
In line with our school vision, we are committed to nurturing our learners for a bright future. Our strategy places a focus on excellent class teaching, identifying gaps in prior learning and removing barriers to learning.
